The ISOMED 2162 Thyroid Uptake System is a Class II medical device used for nuclear medicine applications. It is specifically used to support treatment planning in radiation therapy, especially for radioiodine therapy. The purpose of the Thyroid Uptake System is to measure the percentage of radioactive iodine uptake in the thyroid gland or thyroid tissue. The system is used to determine the count rate of the patient.
The measurement system uses a NaI scintillation probe as a detector. The incoming pulses are processed by multi-channel analyzers and output as digital measurements. Additionally, measurements are displayed as energy spectra.
