It is specifically used to support treatment planning in radiation therapy, especially for radioiodine therapy. <\/strong><br \/><strong>The purpose of the Thyroid Uptake System is to measure the percentage of radioactive iodine uptake in the thyroid gland or thyroid tissue. The system is used to determine the count rate of the patient. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The measurement system uses a NaI scintillation probe as a detector. The incoming pulses are processed by multi-channel analyzers and output as digital measurements.
