An important advantage of the CoMo 170 is that it uses innovative detector technology that does not require any gas flow or gas-filled detector.

It uses a thin-layer plastic scintillation detector. This type of detector is sensitive to both α and β/γ radiation. If the detector’s housing suffers mechanical damage, the manufacturer of the detector does not require any repairs.

There is no longer a need for expensive and time-consuming calibrations (normal or xenon detectors).
