STINGRAY consists of a microfluidic chip, a manifold chip holder, and a versatile automatic device to operate the microfluidic chip. The entire system can be modified by adjusting the number of parts and parameters according to the individual requirements of a customer. This can reduce the final cost. The core of the microfluidic system is a PMMA-based chip with six independent inputs. All inputs can be used for specific purposes.
It is designed for microfluidic processes such as gentle mixing, separation, extraction, nanoparticle formation, etc. The platform offers a range of connections for various microfluidic processes. The entire system can be modified according to the customer’s individual requirements. The low-cost alternative of the microfluidic system represents a single manifold chip holder. This allows for online monitoring of processes carried out on the microfluidic chip. The module includes a PLC; no additional central unit is required. The PLC is controlled through a control computer with a user-friendly interface, and the connection between the module, PLC, and control computer is established using an Ethernet cable.
