The requirements for Iodine treatment rooms and waste systems are required and approved by Turkish Atomic Agency. Patients that receive radioactive treatment are kept in shielded hospital rooms for some time. The waste from these rooms is directed to special shielded tanks. A minimum of 2 tanks is required per room at the treatment facilities. The size and the number of the tanks vary according to the number of treatment rooms. The waste tank system includes a PLC monitoring system to track the fill levels of the tanks from a distance with the help of sensors.
